Dental implants

Dental implants can:

  • replace a single missing tooth without affecting neighbouring teeth
  • support fixed bridges and full-arch restorations
  • improve the stability of removable dentures

Implant treatment options:

  • Single implants – for replacing individual missing teeth
  • Implant-supported bridges – for replacing several missing teeth
  • Implant-supported dentures – for greater stability and comfort
  • All-on-4 / All-on-6 – fixed full-arch teeth supported by four or six implants

Missing teeth can affect more than just your smile – they can also make eating and speaking more difficult. Dental implants provide a stable, long-term solution for replacing one or more missing teeth.

Why choose dental implants?

  • They look and feel similar to natural teeth
  • They restore chewing comfort and function
  • They can replace a missing tooth without affecting neighbouring teeth
  • They can support bridges, dentures and full-arch restorations
  • They help maintain the jawbone after tooth loss

Dental implants can improve your quality of life

What does the treatment involve?

Before implant placement, we carefully examine your teeth, gums and jawbone and discuss the most suitable treatment options with you.

If there is not enough bone to support an implant, bone augmentation may be recommended.

The implant is usually placed under local anaesthesia. General anaesthesia is also available when appropriate.

Healing time depends on the individual case. Once the implant has healed and integrated with the bone, the final crown, bridge or other restoration can be fitted.

Implant treatment options

Conventional implant placement
The implant is placed into the jawbone and allowed to heal before the final restoration is attached.

Immediate implant placement
In suitable cases, an implant can be placed immediately after tooth extraction, reducing the overall number of procedures and helping preserve the surrounding bone and gum tissue.

Immediate loading
In selected cases, a temporary restoration can be attached shortly after implant placement. This option is often used for larger restorations and full-arch treatments.

The most suitable method will always depend on your individual situation and will be discussed with your implantologist.

Caring for your dental implants

Good oral hygiene is essential for the long-term success of dental implants. Daily cleaning, professional dental hygiene and regular check-ups help keep the tissues around the implant healthy.

For long-lasting results, we recommend:

  • good daily oral hygiene
  • regular professional teeth cleaning
  • regular implant check-ups
  • avoiding or reducing smoking

Frequently asked questions

Is dental implant placement painful?
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, so discomfort during treatment is kept to a minimum. General anaesthesia is also available when appropriate.

When can an implant be placed after tooth extraction?
In many cases, the area is allowed to heal first. In suitable situations, however, an implant can be placed immediately after the tooth is removed.

Am I too old for dental implants?
Age alone is generally not the deciding factor. Your dentist will assess your overall health, oral health and bone condition before recommending treatment.

Can I eat normally with dental implants?
Once treatment is complete and the implants have healed, they are designed to restore comfortable chewing and allow you to enjoy a wide range of foods.

How long do dental implants last?
With good oral hygiene, regular check-ups and professional dental care, implants are designed to provide a long-term solution for missing teeth.

Rosa Dental Clinic offers a 3-year warranty on dental implants.

To maintain the warranty, please follow your implantologist’s recommendations, attend an annual implant check-up and preventive examination, and visit our clinic for professional teeth cleaning twice a year.

Minimally Invasive Implant Surgery

In suitable cases, dental implants can be placed using a minimally invasive technique without making a traditional incision in the gum. The implant is placed directly through the gum tissue into the jawbone.

Possible benefits include:

  • shorter procedure time
  • less discomfort after treatment
  • less bleeding and swelling
  • no stitches in suitable cases

Whenever possible, we use gentle and minimally invasive techniques to make treatment and recovery as comfortable as possible.

Mini Implants

Mini implants are smaller and narrower than conventional dental implants. They are mainly used to improve the stability of removable dentures, particularly when there is not enough bone for standard implants or when a more extensive surgical procedure is not suitable.

They can be used in both the upper and lower jaw. However, mini implants are not a full replacement for conventional implants and are recommended only in selected cases.

Mini implants may be suitable if you:

  • want your removable denture to fit more securely
  • have a narrow or significantly reduced jawbone
  • are not a suitable candidate for conventional implants

All-on-4 / All-on-6

All-on-4 and All-on-6 are solutions for patients who are missing all or most of their teeth. A fixed full-arch restoration is supported by four or six implants placed in the jaw.

In many cases, this approach allows us to restore a complete set of teeth using fewer implants. Four implants are often sufficient in the lower jaw, while six implants may be recommended in the upper jaw.

Careful 3D planning helps us determine the ideal position of each implant and whether bone augmentation is necessary. In suitable cases, the treatment can also be performed using minimally invasive guided surgery.

Dr. Robert Rosa will assess your individual situation and recommend the most suitable solution, whether this is All-on-4, All-on-6, guided surgery, or another implant treatment.

Computer-Guided Implant Surgery

Using 3D imaging and digital planning, we can plan the position of dental implants before the procedure. This helps us place implants precisely while taking important anatomical structures such as nerves and the sinus into account.

Benefits of guided implant surgery:

  • precise digital planning before treatment
  • accurate implant positioning
  • the possibility of a minimally invasive procedure in suitable cases
  • potentially shorter and more comfortable treatment

How does guided surgery work?

  1. A 3D scan is taken at our clinic.
  2. The implant position is planned digitally and discussed with you.
  3. A customised surgical guide is created based on the treatment plan.
  4. The implants are placed using the guide in the pre-planned positions.

Guided surgery can be particularly useful when several implants are being placed or when planning more extensive dental restoration. We will always assess whether this approach is suitable for your individual case.
